BIOLAN HEALTH

BIOLAN is a Basque biotechnology company with a global vocation that is committed to continuous innovation and whose main objective is the development, manufacture and marketing of analytical and diagnostic solutions, mainly based on biosensors, to quantify with maximum reliability and precision molecules of interest in the agri-food and health fields.

The extension of the current facilities located in the Bizkaia Technology Park has involved the construction of a 2,600 m² building, bringing the total surface area to 4,000 m².

Now BIOLAN III has a greater automation component that improves manufacturing processes and provides more space for R&D, product development, software and systems areas. All this reinforces the research and the launch of new developments and new areas, as well as the strengthening of existing ones.

This new building houses around 1,000 m² of laboratory space and laboratory facilities that HibLab has completed with the installation of technical partition walls and equipped with the highest quality laboratory furniture. 

PROJECT CHALLENGES

The expansion of the BIOLAN facilities posed crucial challenges in the design and execution of a modern, functional and welcoming working environment. With a focus on process optimisation, HibLab took on the challenge of completing the laboratory area with modern and fully ergonomic laboratory furniture.

The main challenge was to transform the new space into a laboratory that inspires comfort and productivity.

The installation of technical partition walls proved to be essential to separate the laboratory area from the office area. Thus achieving the correct workflow of all the company’s processes.

APPLIED SERVICE

HibLab has carried out the installation of technical partition walls and laboratory furniture in the recently inaugurated research spaces and facilities inherent to the laboratories of the new BIOLAN building in the Bizkaia Technology Park.

The client’s open-mindedness and total willingness to our innovative proposals have transformed this new space into an extremely welcoming environment, with an ergonomic and comfortable atmosphere and a design that defies conventional laboratory spaces.

In addition, in this project we have had the privilege of collaborating with the company Sube Interiorismo, in charge of the design of the new offices.

This collaboration between different parties has allowed us to complete a unique and personalised space and to achieve to comply with the specific needs of the users and promoting creativity and well-being in the workplace.

RESULTS

HibLab’s integrative approach in the execution and design of unique and differential laboratory spaces has allowed us to combine the laboratory area together with the office area, offices and meeting rooms with a modern and functional design.

Taking into account the inherent facilities of the new building, we set out to generate a proposal for laboratory furniture that would combine perfectly with the welcoming space required. The final result has been a working environment that manages to merge functionality with a home-like feel and ambience.
